My Prayer

Bring me peace bring me harmony

Let me like me, let me love me

Let me feel justified, to feel the way I do

And let me know when my feelings are untrue

Give me the strength to stand tall

When others wish to see me fall

Give me the belief in myself to

Achieve what I set out to do

Send me the commitment to finish what I start

Complete my journeys that are set to be far

Keep active my sense of humility

To control my ego, maintain my stability

Allow me to feel gratitude,
Especially when it’s due.

Let me access my power of inner sight

So I be may walk clearly, not wonder along blind

Allow me to recognise those whom love me

Give me the love to send back to them freely

Send me forgiveness to forgive those

Who harm, I understand they do not know

Any better than their actions, can not see outside of their cell

Let me understand they have already created their own hell

For not knowing true happiness can be felt

If you let it, If you continue to tell

Yourself how it is, set your ideas straight

To allow your emotions in, but not to overtake

And to understand that when they do

It’s only natural, it’s just part of what make you, you

To not hate yourself or those around

For letting others or yourself down

To understand that’s just not the case

That some things are random, not always fate

To an extent you control your own path through life

You don’t control the things you go through, trouble and strife

But you control how you react to all of these hurdles

You zag around them or stay running in circles

You will always move forwards and back

Just keep an eye on your own track

Retrace your steps so you can start again

Remember who you are now, remember who you were then

Become something else, help yourself mend

Be happy, be free, be sad if you want to be

Release your anger when you need

Most of all, be free.
